What is filament tape?
Filament-reinforced tape is also called filament tape or glass fiber tape. It consists of a pressure-sensitive adhesive (usually we use synthetic rubber adhesive/acrylic adhesive.) coated onto a backing material, usually a polypropylene or polyester film, and fiberglass yarn embedded to add high tensile strength.
Types of filament tape
Filament tapes include two types. It includes single-sided filament tape and double-sided filament tape. Single-sided filament tape has mono-directional filament tape and bi-directional filament tape. From the appearance, you can easily distinguish it. As the name suggests, mon-directional filament tape is composed of unidirectional fiber yarns and bi-directional filament tape is made of cross-fiber yarns.
